It will not beat a 500i or 661 through bigger wood.Haven't tried the 500i though so can't give a direct comparison. At the moment it has an 18" bar on it with a big sprocket for supercharged ringing up. Aug 30, 2022 · The ONLY reason you would go with a 462 over a 500i is becuase the 462 is cheaper. 500i will run both a 25 and a 28" bar better than a 462. The weight penalty is almost negligible. Starting is better IMO, power is better, the 500i feels more solid imo. I have both. Had the 462 before I bought the 500i and I just sold my 462 to a buddy. It's better, IMO.
