You can also tailor classes to what you're interested in, especially in a broader major like mechanical or electrical. Try taking college level calculus and physics courses. A typical engineering student has 5 classes per week, and I would recommend spending 50 hours per week studying, yielding 10 hours per week per class, which can be adjusted based on which classes are easier vs. harder. Sometimes 60-90 hour weeks will be necessary, but you chose engineering, so don't complain, just prepare. You could get a lot further by taking some core EE classes such as circuits (DC and AC), analog electronics and computer systems. However the workload could become quite extreme alongside an ME program. LittleWhiteShaq. • 2 yr. ago. It’s relatively common for ME’s to get EE masters and vice versa.Your starting salary is $60,000 = $5,000/month. Example 2 - You get a degree in 5 years with 2 co-op programs, each paying you $15/hr. Working full time, that is ~$2500/month. In both cases, after 5 years you have income and an engineering degree. In Example 1, you have more money.Basically got two offers for a co-op next semester. One is for a chip company doing very similar stuff to my last internship, paying $30ish with a $8000 relocation fee for Oregon cost of living. The other is at a space electronics company in St. Louis for $24 per hour and a $2000 relocation. I don’t want any of that to come off as a flex, but rather, a little context for the following advice: 1.Confidence: Try your best to be relaxed and come off as confident in your interview. The college is actively trying to weed you out during year 1. Only 50% of us who declare engineering make it to the finish line. You’ll always be able to getting another job with an engineering degree, but you will sure as hell (most likely) struggle with an English/Philosophy degree. Even though most of the problems in DiffEq follow a very step wise procedure, you have to be well versed in integrals, derivatives, and messy algebra. IMO it's pretty easy to mess up some of the longer problems, but in general you just have to be careful with your algebra. 2.Alternatives to Reddit, Stumbleupon and Digg include sites like Slashdot, Delicious, Tumblr and 4chan, which provide access to user-generated content. Major-specific classes and general engineering type classes from your old school usually won't transfer over. Mechanical Vibrations Youtube. Hi all, started my vibrations class a couple of weeks ago and my university is forcing me to take it asynchronously. This means the only real resources I have are the recorded lectures which really don’t help me learn. Does anyone know of a good youtube channel that explains vibrations well?
