I have given my 312-8 an oil change as it looked pretty grubby.Wheel Horse made 22,500 RJ models between 1958 and 1959, the only difference is the serial number. They are not specific to any particular tractor and do not include safety switches. All use the 5 post ignition switches 103-991 for Magneto and 103-990 for Battery Ignition.I reviewed all the pictures that I took for my C160 and found no clue that there is a safety seat switch for this wheel horse. I cannot contact the previous owner. I do not know if there was a bypass safety switch on it. However, when I connected the safety seat switch to another wheel horse seat - the PTO ran and the engine did not die. · There is no room in front of engine and behind hood for it. From the air filter to the hood everything interferes.If the muffler's body was about 3" shorter then with some clever plumbing it would work but still be tight. I would say the C-160 is the best simple electrical, built tough, lots of power, and the easy to get to the lift shaft. The 300, 400 and 500 series are a pain to attach to the lift.
