If you plan on using him often, the performance increase from level 90 to level 100 is noticeable. Sherlock is a rare servant who enables a largely unique style of team, and he’s worth pulling for that reason alone. He also shuts down certain CQ gimmicks and is just a powerful option for crit-centric teams in general.

You don’t need Merlin in order to do well at the game or to complete CQs, and it won’t be hard to find a Merlin on your support list, but his reputation isn’t overblown—he really is just that strong. Shiki’s kit isn’t especially flashy, but it has everything she needs to be a great Arts-flavored boss-killer. ST damage is pretty much all she has to offer, but with Tamamo/Waver (or other Arts supports/semi supports), Shiki can do a lot of damage in a fairly short amount of time. tl;dr: Shiki can kill servants.

It’s absolutely valid to worry about what Altria’s release means for the game going forward, but I think it’s a little too early to panic. All-in-all, Altria is ludicrously powerful.
